If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that pets are real-life unicorns; they have this magical ability to make even the worst of days seem not so bad and display the most unconditional of love. Their overwhelming cuteness thaws even the iciest of hearts and is one of the few things we would consider murdering for (see ya in hell, David Berkowitz).

But, with all of this wonderfulness comes the stuff that no one thinks about. Pet ownership is a huge responsibility and not a decision that should be made lightly. Unfortunately, animals have health issues. Past trauma. Quirks that we don’t understand. They depend on you 100% and only know the love and care that you provide. It’s up to you to ensure they get everything they need to be healthy and happy.

Today we’re discussing what we wish we would’ve known before adopting our sweet angels. Not that the outcome would’ve changed, but it definitely would’ve been nice to have a heads up about some things…looking at you, anal glands.
