I'm quite a spontaneous person myself so I sometimes find that creating a schedule for myself can be a bit challenging and I even used to think it was restrictive, I felt constrained by it. Until I started doing it properly. Once I got into a habit of planning my weeks and my days, I found that it's actually very liberating, it helps you avoid decision fatigue, it makes me more productive and I am better at completing my tasks and fulfilling my goals.
