Our society has created two distinct categories: social/normal drinker and alcoholic. The reality is, a lot of us will find ourselves somewhere between the two extremes. Unfortunately because of the way alcohol is promoted and celebrated, it’s easy to internalize the negative effects of it as inherent problems that we embody rather than direct results of the drug. On the other hand, alcohol isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s important to understand the why when we consume it. In this episode, we’re unpacking the gray space of learning about our own relationships to alcohol, how it affects anxiety and depression, hanxiety, the impact of taking time away, and more.
