ONE Energy

Episode #21 – Tim Burke & Solar Power

Listen Later

Tim Burke is one of the leading experts in Canada when it comes to Solar Power technology and projects. He graduated from Queen’s University with a BASc in Mining Engineering, but then quickly transitioned his career into the solar industry where he has been for the majority of his career and made a huge impact. He has worked at some incredible places such as Canadian Natural Resources Limited, Evergreen Power Ltd., Solar Flow, and now is currently at GP Joule Canada Corp as their Senior Director of Engineering and Project Management. He wanted to make it clear that he does not speak on behalf of GP Joule Canada Corp., but rather is expressing his own ideas and opinions.

It seems that the discussion of solar power is continuing to grow more and more. With the energy equation becoming so complicated many people have been asking, “where does solar power fit?” Does solar power have a place at all? Is it better to have solar power on your house or in a central location producing hundreds of megawatts? Is the life cycle of solar power detrimental to the environment? Doesn’t solar power take up large amounts of land? Tim Burke and I dive into all of these questions and more, so listen in and leave your comments about what you think of our conversation.
