On this episode of American Real, Roger asks where Dan fits in when talking about consciousness. Dan explains as such: "So consciousness for me started when I heard this voice in my head giving me advice. When I really started listening to the voice, I found there were two voices. There was a voice that kind of said, 'try it this way,' and there was a voice that said, 'try it this way.' So once I recognized I could have thought about thought, that's consciousness."
