M. Karlos Baca (Tewa/Dine/Nuucui) is an Indigenous Foods Activist from the Southern Ute Nation. He is the founder of Taste of Native Cuisine, which was created alongside the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum, to promote traditional Indigenous Foodways in the community and has grown over the last decade to include work with Tribal Nations across the country, the founder of 4th World Farm which is focused on pre-colonial foods and agricultural systems of the high desert region of the southwest, and is a co-founder of the Indigenous food activist group the I-Collective which has representation of Indigenous knowledge keepers of 18 tribes, from Oaxaca to First Nations, and uses Indigenous Foodways as a medium to combat structural white supremacy and continued warfare against Indigenous people. He is also a writer, a sheepherder, and most importantly a son, father, uncle, and grandfather.
M. Karlos Baca (Tewa / Dine / Nuucui) es un activista de alimentos indígenas de la Nación de los Ute del Sur. Es el fundador de Taste of Native Cuisine, que fue creado junto con el Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum, para promover las Vías Alimentarias Indígenas tradicionales en la comunidad y que ha crecido durante la última década para incluir el trabajo con las Naciones Tribales en todo el país. Es fundador de 4th World Farm, que se centra en los alimentos precoloniales y los sistemas agrícolas de la región desértica alta del suroeste. Es también cofundador del grupo de activistas alimentarios indígenas I-Collective, que tiene representación de los poseedores de conocimientos indígenas de 18 tribus -desde Oaxaca hasta las Primeras Naciones-; y utiliza las Vías Alimentarias Indígenas como medio para combatir la estructura de la supremacía blanca y la continua guerra contra los pueblos de origen indígena. También es escritor, pastor de ovejas, y lo más importante, hijo, padre, tío y abuelo.
