In this episode Brook and Tony discuss how by creating what Brook calls Static the other parent is creating a distraction or misdirection in order to confuse or detract from the underlying goal of controlling a situation. This is a common narcissistic tool and when  you understand what is.taking place you are more able to extract the signal of what is actually taking place and not get drawn into a conflict that has little or no relevance to solving the true issues at hand.
