On this first day of March, I introduce my theme for the month “Motivated Miracles and share day 1 of shadow work where I introduce my inner critic and let them know they are hereby being evicted from my head.
Day 1: Meet Your Inner Critic
Prompt:
We all have that voice—the one that says, “You’re not good enough,” or “You’ll never be as cool as those people on Instagram.” Yeah, that one. Time to have a sit-down with it. What does it say? Who does it remind you of? (Hint: It’s probably a mix of that one teacher in high school and a judgmental houseplant.)
Healing Activity:
Write a letter to your inner critic. Tell it that you’re aware of its existence and that you’re no longer accepting unsolicited opinions from imaginary naysayers. You can even give it a name (like Steve, Karen, or Reginald—because Reginald just sounds like someone who would criticize your latte art). Finish with a hug.
Tag me in your story or post on Instagram: Stakeandpotato3s https://www.instagram.com/pstakeandpotato3spodcast?igsh=dHY5NTZ4b2swc3R4&utm_source=qr or send me an email to [email protected] to share pthe best part of your day with me.
If you or someone you know is in a domestic violence situation and in need of help, call 800-799-SAFE. An easy way to remember is if there are 800 abusers and you remove 799 of them, you will be safer.
