It is the privilege to welcome seven-time Emmy-winning journalist Elex Michaelson to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Elex co-anchors FOX 11 News weeknights at 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. with Christine Devine. He also co-hosts the weeknight FOX 11 News at 6 p.m. with Marla Tellez. He also hosts and produces the political talk show The Issue Is, which airs on stations throughout California. Elex is an Agoura Hills, California native, and his first job in broadcasting was as a FOX 11 intern. He is a self-described “political junkie” who has conducted one-on-one interviews with nearly every key political figure, including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, current California Governor Gavin Newsom, and former California Governors Jerry Brown and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

He co-moderated debates for California Governor, Los Angeles Mayor, L.A. County Sheriff, and multiple congressional races. Elex Michaelson also reported live from the Republican and Democratic National Conventions and numerous Presidential inaugurations. He also received the Los Angeles Press Club Award for “Outstanding Political Affairs Show” and four Golden Mike Awards.

Before joining FOX 11 News, Elex was a reporter and fill-in anchor from 2010 to 2017 at KABC-TV in Los Angeles. Before that, he served as a weekend morning anchor and weeknight reporter at XETV in San Diego. When he is not reporting, Elex regularly volunteers with several nonprofits, including the ALS Golden West Association, the Drew Child Development Corporation, and the Boys and Girls Clubs.
