One of the things that I really enjoy about the guests I interview on ScaleUp Radio is hearing about their backstories and what has brought them to the point of setting up their business as well as then the journey that they've been on since and some of the ups and downs that we all face.
Today, I interview Thomas Hardy, who set up Twelfth City Cyclery and the passion that Tom has for essentially his clear core purpose or mission, which is to get more people out and about and enjoying cycling. That's what he's about and Tom has built a business, putting together a range of services to really help achieve that.
I want you to listen out for his backstory as to how he's really benefited from bringing together a background in engineering, in hospitality, in sports coaching and international experience across several countries including the States, Canada, and also Norway.
So he's bringing all of those experiences together and helping to shape the business.
Tom is based in a beautiful part of the world literally a stone's throw away from Hadrian's Wall up in Northumberland, and he delayed going out to support an event in the forest up there to record this interview with me.
It's going to be an all weekend event which sounded great fun and I have to say, looking out the window at the moment made me want to get my bike out and get back out cycling. So I go to stop wittering on, get out on my bike, and let you listen to the rest of Tom's story.
