Today, the Court hears a special plea in equity from our very own Justice Phil--In re Ability Check "Surge." In short, we ponder whether a fighter could use action surge to immediately attempt to retry a failed ability check, and whether there should be a fighter-specific mechanic in-game for doing so. We then disrobe and let our chia pets hang loose in Chamber Chat, as we discuss whether you should be able to add your proficiency bonus to flat ability checks under certain circumstances.
