Shaun Torrente is a three time F1 and two time Offshore World Champion. He also owns Shaun Torrente Racing where he manufactures innovative marine components, with billet set-back brackets being their specialty. Torrente is also a Mercury Racing dealer, rigs and set-ups race boats, and operates the GSR High Performance Driving School.
If that wasn't enough to occupy his time, at this year's Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, Torrente and his business partner and race teammate, Sean Conner, introduced their new, purpose built, 32 ft. S2 Powerboats racing catamaran. Rigged in only six days with a pair of Vision Marine Technologies E-Motion 180E electric outboard engines and tested for only two days, Torrente upped his record for the world's fastest electric boat to 116 mph.
It isn't hard to see, with everything that Torrente has his hands into, that he's a very driven and competitive guy. He sat down with me and shared some of the things that make him tick and keep him motivated.
