Listen Later

In this episode, we review two cheesy martial arts movies from the early 90’s!
First, we review, “3 Ninjas.” 3 Ninjas is a 1992 American martial arts comedy film directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Victor Wong, Michael Treanor, Max Elliott Slade, and Chad Power.
The film is about three adolescent boys who spend their summers being trained by their grandfathers to be ninjas. Their father, an FBI agent, is on the hunt for a nefarious villain with mysterious ties to the family.
Next, we review, “Showdown.” Showdown (also known as American Karate Tiger) is a 1993 action/martial arts film directed by Robert Radler. The film stars Billy Blanks, Kenn Scott, Christine Taylor, Ken McLeod, Patrick Kilpatrick, and Brion James.
The film is about a young transfer student vexed by bullies who must learn to defend himself. He is trained to beat up trash cans by the school janitor. Eventually, he fights in a precursor to the UFC for money.
