In 2002, a group of miners in Pennsylvania became trapped nearly 240 feet underground. After more than three days, rescuers finally reached them. One by one, the miners emerged with tears of joy, grateful for the simple blessings they had nearly lost—their families, fresh air, and another day to live.

Sometimes it takes a crisis to remind us of what we already have. Yet God's Word encourages us to cultivate gratitude every day. First Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Gratitude recognizes that God’s goodness remains in the midst of life’s difficulties.

A thankful heart changes the way we see every circumstance. Today, take time to thank the Lord for His many blessings.
