On episode 26 of the melaninwhitecoats podcast, we have a special guest, Dr Ramsey an adolescent fellow at Children’s National Hospital in Washington D.C talk about the realities of adolescent medicine and mental health during the pandemic. She enlightens us about some particular experiences which affects the adolescent population and contributes what are ways to combat some mental health issues. She also talks about mental health disparities which affect adolescents around the globe and what spurred her interest into such. She displays her passions for a unique subset within pediatrics and the importance of highlighting the difficulties they face. Not only does she discuss her concerns about the patients she sees daily but she also discusses her concerns about physician mental health during the pandemics and importance of accessing resources as a healthcare professional.
