Kaia Kristian is 16 years old, but possesses more knowledge and wisdom than the mass majority of people her age. Unfortunately, her wisdom came from a troubled past and has left her in a constant battle with CPTSD. CPTSD differs from PTSD in the sense that it does not stem from a lone traumatic experience, but it rather comes from various different traumatic experiences. Kaia describes her past traumatic experiences and the ways that she revealed her last struggles through her CPTSD therapy. Often times a person with CPTSD cannot pinpoint or even recall the root causes of their trauma because, as Kaia states in her episode, they burry them so internally that they don’t even remember them anymore. Despite Kaia’s background she has still managed to grow and live out a very successful dance career thus far. Dance always acted as an escape root for Kaia, but unfortunately this past year she has noticed a change that she explains best. I hope everyone enjoys her story and shows appreciation to the courage it took to share her story.
