In this episode of the Quality Hub Podcast, Xavier Francis interviews Rick Krick from Core Business Solutions about What is CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration), a process improvement framework. Unlike ISO 9001, which focuses on quality processes, CMMI emphasizes evidence-based project management. Rick discusses the basics of CMMI and then outlines the first three of CMMI’s five maturity levels: Level 1 (Initial) Level 2 (Managed) and Level 3 (Defined). Most companies aim for levels 2 or 3, while levels 4 and 5, which require extensive data monitoring, will be covered in “What is CMMI Part 2” next week.
