Built during the height of the railroad boom in WNC, Balsam Mountain Inn was the place to be in the late 1800's to early 1900's. 

But after the great depression hit, it sat abandoned for many years. Now it has new owners, but there are still reports of those from days gone by who have not left the building yet. 

Between tragedies in the making of the railroad, and in the inn itself, its no wonder there are so many reports of this place being haunted.
