In this week's episode, I was essentially voluntold by a friend to speak a little about my experience with emotional abuse because we got on the topic.
Now, I didn't want to fully delve into all the dirty details here, so I did keep things a little more generalized and hopefully relatable. This is all about speaking to the experience, how I moved on from it, and how I'm choosing not to re-tell stories or re-live those moments specifically.
As much as people can say they love us...sometimes the way they show love is exactly how they learnt love was. From an early age - based on what they experienced growing up. And sometimes that just isn't how we need to be loved or how we wish to experience it - you always need to be able to discern what is enough.
Prepare your ears for an abrupt dog intervention near the end...let's get into it.
