In honor of Women’s History Month, we are joined by the extraordinary Dr. Sherry Wang, who discusses how her experiences as an immigrant of Asian descent shaped her career and work, the necessity of viewing self-care as community care, and steps our field can take to engage in work that combats xenophobia and racism. Dr. Wang is an Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology Department at Santa Clara University. She is the chair of APA's Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs and co-directs the organization, Research Initiative on Social Justice and Equity, which is a national team of faculty, students, and community members committed to using critical inquiry to address issues of systemic inequalities.
