Episode 3 – Identity Crisis

Listen Later

Vernon & Ade explore the identity crisis that Black folks seem to have these days. Historically, Black folks have been led a stray by politicians & immoral people. They go into that phenomena and add their voice to the discussion.
It seems that there are always people, usually non black, trying to define what is black and what isn’t black. Biden told black people they weren’t black if they did not vote for him, while black folks are told to get behind Senator Harris, because she is black, while she is not. Some things are true regardless of feelings or biases. A person cannot get what they need or want if they do not know themselves a bit. Knowing politically what would be helpful to black people in their own lives would help them make the choices for them and not what the nation wants them to do. Point: if the Trump administration wrote a law that helped black folks, most still would not say “That was good.” Instead, they would lead with their feelings about a man they will never know. Politicians are people who want to make a difference. Sometimes those differences are to their own benefit and their constituents. Knowing what politician would best relay your feelings and concerns is what the voting process is for. Which is why black folks need to know their needs before voting.
Vernon & Ade also delve into the makeup of the “black” community. Unfortunately, it is an outsider to the race, but an insider to politics, that voices the best opinion of what blacks “need” to do. Vernon & Ade gets into the thick of it and offers a solution. Enjoy Episode 3 of Da Agenda!
