Vernon and Ade celebrate their 10th episode today and welcoming their first guest, Monifa Akousa Neighborhood Ambassador at CoBiz in Richmond. This episode is strictly about getting busy in your community. Richmond is the jewel of the bay. Very centrally located therefore highly sought after. We need to realize what’s in the community and fight to keep it. The crew talks about going to city council meetings, demanding tangibles, and helping others.

Today Vernon and Ade pose the question, can black folks think for themselves? In the climate of today’s politics, some candidates are telling black voters they aren’t “black” if they don’t vote their way. Also, being told the definition of black people by non black people. The question also lends itself to the state of neighborhood policing and life in general. Black people are usually told how to react to trauma and shortcomings of America. Vernon & Ade introduces some ways for black folks to “speak” when the time comes.

Vernon and Adewale dissect Trumps “Platinum Plan”. Deciding if this is really going to help Black folks. The plan identifies some groups as terrorists and a new lynching law.

Vernon and Adewale breaks down the “conventions” and try to decide, what’s in it for black folks? The definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results. Black folks have been voting since they were given the right to vote, yet the strides that they expect to see never comes into fruition. Maybe a third party or a black caucus to demand tangibles.

The state of politics at this moment has black folks having votes and both parties wanting those votes, for nothing. Every other race or group demands tangibles from their representatives, and get them. Black folks get promises and disrespect. Vernon and Adewale speaks on the need for blacks to exercise the right not to vote. In the real world, you cannot get something if you do not give something.
