Episode 3: Kind op een speeldatum

Listen Later

Hello All,
I'm Ramya and welcome to the fourth episode of our podcast where I'm discussing again on the same topic: Kids. Since it is a vacation time, I thought this would be an apt topic to discuss about

Today, I bring to you an interesting real-life situation. A few days ago, my son was having a play date with a kid who speaks Dutch. I was naturally having a conversation with both the kids in Dutch. I struggled to find some words along the process. Like "You both should not fight, you need to play together" or "Do not disturb papa, he is working" or "Finish this task, only then jump onto the next one"

So this episode is all about having conversations with kids in Dutch. Come, let us learn together and make use of it in our day-to-day lives.

The conversation goes like this:
SCENE 1:
Kid: Hello..Can I play with him?
Parent: Yes, come in
Do you guys prefer playing outside or at home?
Kids: At home
Parent: Do you want to color or do some activity?
Kids: Coloring
Parent: That's good. Take the coloring pencils from the drawer

SCENE 2:
After 5mins, they jump on to playing a dice game. Parent comes over and says "Finish coloring first, only then play a dice game", "After coloring, tidy up the space"
Parent: Do you guys like to drink or eat something?
Kids in excitement: Yey...We want to eat  OR We want to drink
Parent: What do you want? A cookie or a fruit  OR What do you want to drink? Orange juice or apple juice.
Kid: Cookie.
Parent: Here you go..

SCENE 3:
They start fighting over the game. Parent comes and says "Do not fight. You must play together"
Parent: Let us do some activities together. Take this book and do some maths. You do first, next is his turn.

Kids get bored and tells parent that they want to go out and play.
Parent: I have set a timer for 10 minutes. Finish this page and leave
After 5 minutes kids say "We are done"

Parent: Okay.Good.I will apply sunscreen first. Carry a hat and a water bottle before you leave. Have you also applied sunscreen?"
He says "No. I will go home, apply and come back again"
Parent: You are small. It is dangerous to cross the road alone. I shall accompany you to your home.

Kids start playing outside in warm summer.
I hope this episode was useful to you too. Do apply these conversations whenever and whenever possible. See you all soon in the next episode on Wednesday. Until then take care, bye.

Hallo Allemaal,

Ouder: Ja, kom binnen
Spelen jullie liever buiten of thuis?
Kinderen: Thuis
Ouder: Oke..Willen jullie kleuren of een activiteit doen?
Kind: Kleuren
Ouder: Dat is goed. Pak de kleurpotloden uit de la
