This week, we are diving into The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J Maas, the prequel novel, typically read 3rd in the 8 book series. The Assassin’s Blade is a prequel collection of five novellas that takes place prior to the events of Throne of Glass (book 1). It follows Celaena Sardothien, Adarlan’s most notorious assassin, as she navigates dangerous missions, tests the limits of her loyalty to the Assassin’s Guild, and fights for her independence. The last novella in this book ultimately leads directly to Celaena being enslaved in Endovier, which happens prior to the events of ToG. The book explores themes of freedom, friendship, love, courage, and personal growth, while introducing many characters and events that become important later in the Throne of Glass series.
