What does it mean to be a follower of the Way? So many people think that they are Christians today, they may refer to God, talk about God, and acknowledge God in some way, but really don't truly follow God. What makes a person a true follower of Jesus? It's not zeal. It's not dedication. It's not saying God's name. It is doing what He says.
Travis walks through Acts 9:1-2 and the life of Saul before he became the apostle Paul. He was heartfelt, dedicated, serious, and devout. Does that mean he was saved? Or was he lost? Travis explores some classic and often skipped-over texts that reintroduce us to God's way of classifying us. Either we are natural people (who are devoid of the Spirit and don't know God), we are spiritual people (who have surrendered to Jesus and have received His Spirit and are learning to live in the Spirit), or we are carnal people-people who may have surrendered to Jesus but are living lives in the flesh (i.e. contrary to God's Word).
He invites us to take a look in the mirror of the Word of God and evaluate ourselves and our lives so that we might truly become the people God desires that we be.
