Victor Guerrero is a fronterizo who has been living in the U.S.-Mexico border most of his life. He is the son of an immigrant family who settled in El Paso, Texas, where he grew up and attended Bowie High school, and later attended the University of Texas at El Paso. At UTEP he obtained a Bahelor's in Communication with a focus on new and emerging media. He is a marketing and public relations professional working in healthcare for most of his 18-year career. Most recently, Victor completed a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from UTEP. Victor is a health and fitness enthusiast who live in central El Paso with his 80-pound dog, Logan.
In this episode, Victor talks about growing up in El Paso and learning to appreciate his community from a very young age. He shares his experiences growing up as a kid in the barrio, and his desire to give back to the very group that witnessed - and continues to witness- his journey. His hope is to continue disrupting stereotypes and making way for future generations of Mexican-American, Hispanic/Latin@ groups, as well as advocating for young members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
