The song Don’t Worry, Be Happy may be an old one, but when I first heard it, it felt new to me. Its principle, however, is timeless—reminding us that happiness is not about waiting for perfect circumstances, but about embracing the present moment. As I reflected on my own experiences, I realized how often we measure today against yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s uncertainties. That comparison steals the joy of now. Instead, each moment deserves to be lived fully, without the burden of past or future. Practically, this means pausing to notice small joys—a smile, a conversation, a task completed—and letting them stand on their own. By doing so, we train ourselves to live with less worry and more gratitude, making happiness not just a fleeting feeling but a daily practice.
