It has finally arrived.  After 21 races, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen simply could not be separated. 369.5 points apiece. 17 wins between them. It was finely poised for the final showdown at sundown in  Abu Dhabi at the Yas Marina Circuit to decide the championship. Hamilton led for 56 and a half laps before the late safety car drama and a farcical FIA decision robbed the Briton. Verstappen made it count on the final lap though to earn a thoroughly deserved maiden drivers' title at the age of 24, sparking wild celebrations in the Red Bull garage.
