What happens when the Grace Brothers staff go on holiday to the fictional seaside town abroad called “Costa Plonka” during a military coup d’etat? Let’s make a movie out of it (and roll in the cash).

Season 5 finished filming and the of AYBS team then made a feature film that was released on July 31, 1977.

The AYBS stage show which was successful in Blackpool was filmed and tweaked = the AYBS Movie.

Recycled jokes from the first 5 seasons for a movie audience who isn’t familiar with the AYBS show makes for a luke-warm experience for AYBS fans.

We realize that there’s no audience laughter during the movie- which feels …voyeuristic after 5 years of the show.

Is the movie’s content “cannon” within the AYBS universe? Huge debate!

Mr. Jeff and Brandon both agree that the TV screen is the best medium for our favorite show.

Our take: the movie isn’t great, but it’s AYBS and you see all the characters during their peak so it’s worth it and cheap enough to completely be worth it.
