In the early morning hours of February 14, 2000, 9 yr old Asha Degree, left her home in Shelby, North Carolina and proceeded to walk the route of a nearby highway. She was spotted by passing motorists as she made her way down the side of the highway during torrential downpours.  However, when she was eventually approached by a passing car, she ran into the woods. Unfortunately, that would be the last time that Asha was ever seen or heard from again. Nearly two years later, Asha's backpack was unearthed roughy 26 miles from her home.
