This week, the Rev. Dr. Lisa Wolfe joins us to discuss the books of Hosea, Joel, Amos, and Obadiah. We give attention to their historical settings, what themes mark each book, and—particularly with Hosea—how difficult and differing images of God can emerge in the prophetic texts.

Lisa is Professor of Hebrew Bible at Oklahoma City University in Oklahoma City, OK. Lisa’s research focus is on women of the Bible and wisdom literature. In fact, Lisa wrote a small group study called “Uppity Women of the Bible” and you may have done that in a small group at your church.
