This week’s double Bedlam episode is a special one for me, as my poke husband Eric joins us for the show! And you will love hearing former sooner softballer Julie Dobbs-Burbank, and former osu dual athlete (and NY Yankee!) Dennis Burbank talk about their bedlam love story, time playing sports, and more!

Some info about our guests: Dennis Burbank is a 2-sport athlete…2-kid dad… that has 1-hot Sooner wife! As a dual sport athlete (baseball and basketball) at OSU in the early 90’s, who also later played for the Yankees, he’s got lots of stories to tell!

He is currently a Certified Financial Planner during the week…wanna be middle-aged professional wake surfer on the weekends. Born and raised in Southern California, but got to Oklahoma as fast as he could. He Loves traveling with Jules and friends…and loves flying his Beechcraft Baron - for both business & pleasure.

He said that Julie tricked him into this 🤣 but I’m fairly certain he had fun himself! He loves talking about how he likes watching what Patty builds every year and have tons of respect for her, as well as Porter Moser & Skip Johnson…plus his favorite person in the world is a Sooner.

His fave sooner memory is Walking out of Fairgrounds Stadium with OU catcher, Kevin Schula…who stopped to introduce him to a georgeous blond softball player who just finished watching her Sooner boys get beat by the cowboys-again. But the rest is history….

Julie Dobbs-Burbank Graduated from Del City High School and University of Oklahoma, where she played softball! She grew up with her parents having season tickets, so she is sooner born and bred! Her Freshman & Sophomore stats are under Julie Dobbs, and junior & Senior stats under Julie Burbank. She was also a Member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Julie was the Starting Shortstop (1990-1994) and she had some note worthy Teammates, including:Lonni Alameda: Florida State Head Coach, 1st baseman; Kelly Ford: Retired Fullerton Head Coach, centerfield

She Met Dennis at Big 8 baseball game as he was walking up through the stands with an OU baseball players in May 1991, he left for Pro-ball minor leagues 2 days later. Fall of 1991, an OU base ballplayer transferred to OSU and in October 1991 Dennis asked Brian Cavalli if he knew her and could get her phone #. They were engaged on Valentines Day 1992 and channel 4 sports anchors happened to be in Norman on that day and let the WHOLE world know that they got engaged on the 5pm ,6pm & 10pm news cast. Dennis showed up in a full suit of armor. She left that same night for the OU softball opening weekend in North Texas. They got married November 1992 during her junior year at OU. They will Celebrate 33 years of marriage in November 2025.

Julie currently works with her husband for Northwestern Mutual in Oklahoma City. Also In 2020, she appointed by Governor Stitt to serve on the Oklahoma Employment Securities Commission for a 6-year term, leveraging her Human Resources expertise.

Her favorite sooner memory is making the WCWS poster in 1992.

- Graduated from Texas A&M University

- Played on the Aggie Soccer Team for 4 years

- Transferred to Oklahoma State University (OSU) for her COVID year to play soccer where she earned her MBA

Drew Burbank (21 years old):

- Eagle Scout

-OSU Varsity E-Sports Team

- Currently a junior at Oklahoma State University (OSU)

- Pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurial Business
