Paul's admonitions about food sacrificed to idols in reference to the weaker brother, and food issues mentioned in Romans 14 are looked at here in terms of the recent Catholic convert who who lives with food rules especially during Lent, and other false religions where a recent convert may still be staggering in conscience under the old rules instead of feeling released in new-found Christian liberty.
