Hi, My name is Samantha Rose Rizzo. I am the Feature Twirler for the Pride of Oklahoma. I have been twirling for 13 years, competing from the state level to the international level. This past summer I had the honor to represent both OU/Oklahoma and the USA on the world stage at the IBTF’s Nations Cup where I earned the gold medal. It truly is an honor to represent an amazing school.

Earning the position as the Feature Twirler and coming to school here has truly given me and everlasting love for the sooners. My favorite sooner memories are being able to perform at all of the different sporting and community events

Halle says:

Halle, from Edmond, Oklahoma, is a fifth-year Honors College student at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Music. She began her journey in The Pride as a front ensemble member, later becoming a cymbal player and eventually cymbal captain on the OU Drumline, before being selected as the 70th Drum Major of The Pride of Oklahoma. Now in her second year leading the band, she is proud to serve as the program’s first SEC drum major, the fourth female drum major in Pride history, and continues to uphold its legacy of excellence and tradition. Beyond The Pride, Halle was selected as a member of OU’s prestigious Top Ten Senior Honor Society, PE-ET, is an active brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, and has worked as both a campus tour guide and a staff member in the university’s Fabrication Lab.

I grew up going to OU games — I’m actually a third-generation Sooner! My grandpa played football here and both of my parents graduated from OU’s Physical Therapy program, so I was raised in a true Sooner born and Sooner bred family. I’ve been coming to games with my family for as long as I remember, so OU has always felt like home.

Halle’s favorite sooner memory is her first pregame as a drum major- she can recount every detail!
