Does it feel harder to love yourself in the quiet moments? The ones where you don’t have anyone around, nothing to do, no place to be but in your head? As someone who will literally be on their phone, watching a movie, and still looking around for something to do - I can be the poster child for distracted. Which is why it’s so hard to love ourselves when there isn’t anything to distract ourselves. No phones, no screens, no activities, no noise. Just left alone with our thoughts and who we are
And those thoughts in my mind used to be a scary, negative place, so being left alone to love myself when I didn’t love my thoughts was difficult, but not impossible
And as someone that doesn’t like meditating, you can imagine it wasn’t easy! But it didn’t stay that way forever. I’m proud that now I can love myself even when there’s nothing but just little ol’ me - and you can too.
