Sisters In Song

Episode 4 Interview with Kotarah

Listen Later

Kotarah is a magical music maker who hails from Vancouver Island, Canada. An altpop songstress who writes catchy ear-worms with gritty production. "This is always stuck in my head" or "I woke up singing your song" are constant bits of feedback that Kotarah gets for her vulnerable work. Speaking in an upfront way about topics like mental health, loss, love, and everything between this woman is well-needed in the current musical landscape.

"I want people to feel life can be magic, even with trauma. It's probably my biggest mission to get people to see the light through the darkness. Everyone has something going on under the surface and if you don't think you do, you're probably not paying attention. I want to give space to those things that no one wants to talk about." Kotarah says of her songs.

Inspired by the land she lives on and the life she lives, this is a rare up and coming artist you'll want to watch.
