The Sundargarh District Administration has taken several initiatives to reduce Malaria incidents in the district. Notable progress has been achieved in the past few years with less than 1 affected in over 1000 people. Special focus was given on tribal pockets, inaccessible areas and urban slums. Over 13.9 Lakh LLIN Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets are being distributed by the administration to prevent malaria causing mosquitoes from infecting people.
