How many times have you said or heard, "I'm nothing without you," "He completes me," "She's my other half," "We're two puzzle pieces that complete the full picture," but this diminishes you as a divine being that has a right to live fully for yourself. This may sound cute on a surface level, but there are underlying issues here that perpetuate disempowerment. Yes, struggle together, support each other, build together! But stop glamorizing NEEDING someone to fix us or trying to fix others, stop romanticizing codependency. Stop projecting your traumas on other people and stop allowing other wounded people to make you feel less than you are, because they haven't faced their own baggage. It's normal to need support and to hurt, we are all wounded, but also take ownership of your own healing and your relationships will blossom out of desire and not necessity.
You do not need him to complete you, you do not need her to complete you, you need YOU to complete you. <3
