CW5(ret) Bernd Knox served his career as an Army Aviation Warrant officer, achieving the coveted rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5 and serving as the Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 1st Aviation Brigade at Fort Novosel, overseeing the training of new Army Aviators. He primarily flew the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior but is also qualified in the AH-64D Apache.
