That's What We Said

Episode 42 - Estill Street is Going to Be Lit

Listen Later

We recorded this episode on Saturday, November 7th, while we -- and the world -- were waiting for the Presidential election to be called. While we wait, we talk about election results in Kentucky, particularly the dispiriting news that a state representative currently indicted for assault on his wife has been easily reelected. We ponder Red and Blue America and how that false dualism makes it harder for rural organizers to make headway in our areas. But if that sounds deep, we also take a moment to laugh about the memes of the 2020 election. Finally, right before we log off, we learn that Joe Biden will be the next President of the United States. Four years ago, we spent a devastating evening together as we watched Donald Trump win the presidency, and our trip to the Women’s March planted the seeds of this podcast.  It only seems right that we’re together -- via zoom, during a pandemic -- when we find out that Donald Trump has finally lost and lost bigly.
