The Sydney Opera House lottery, where for £3 you went into the draw for £100,000 (over 5 million dollars in today's money!).  One of the lucky winners was the Thorne family but little did they know that this win would make their son Graeme a target of kidnapping for ransom  by the arrogant and devious Stephen Bradley.  This was the first ever kidnapping for ransom case in Australia's history and one that would steal the country's innocence.
