Saturday, October 24th, 1953, was an otherwise ordinary day for fifteen-year-old Evelyn Hartley. She left her home to babysit the young daughter of her father's colleague. That evening as many of the community in La Crosse, Wisconsin were attending a homecoming game, someone would enter the house where Evelyn was babysitting and violently abduct her.
