EPISODE 49: What To Order When Out

Listen Later

Did you know that over 163 million people eat out at least once a week in America? That is nearly 63% of the population who spend an average of $71 a week which in total comes out to 602 billion dollars a year!

Although this may not surprise you, the repercussions of constantly eating out are adding up as the obesity rate in America is the highest it has ever been in history at 42%.

Why does eating out have such an impact on our overall weight and health? The issue is that most restaurants save money by using lower quality foods and ingredients including harmful seed oils that create inflammation and weight gain.

Does this mean that you should never eat out again? NO! There are plenty of options to eat healthy and stay metabolically flexible when you are traveling, eating out or visiting family and friends for dinner.

It starts with knowing what foods will help you stay metabolically flexible and what foods won’t.  The next step is then doing a little research and finding the restaurants that source their food locally and use higher quality ingredients.

Want the blueprint on how to make eating out enjoyable and healthy? In this episode Emily and Joel dive into how to keep your body burning fat and feeling good all while enjoying your time out!
