Barber is a farmer from Middleburgh, NY He has served as Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency in New York, a special assistant to the commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, and most recently as the Cornell Cooperative Exension of Otsego and Schoharie Countys' Agriculture and Farmland Implementation Specialist.
