In this episode Beth interviews Liz about how she faced the police department and the county she was arrested in as a battered woman in southern Minnesota four years ago.  Beth and Liz discuss how this negatively influences the direction of care for survivors of violence in our communities and how we need to address the knowledge gaps to make systematic improvements moving forward.  Liz reveals her chronic injury for surviving so many cycles of violence in her lifetime and how inadequate systematic social support causes that injury for survivors.  She also reveals what helps her heal and how she bests navigates that in her life.  Beth asks what Liz's hope is for the future ahead.
