Ed & Al make it to Central to continue their research. An arsonist’s recent destruction of the First Branch initially dampens their spirits, but they find a former library employee with photographic memory who read Marcoh’s… er… cookbook… and transcribes the notes for them, landing a job with the military again in the process.

The brothers are disappointed once again once they understand what Marcoh’s research truly entailed. Working with Ross, Brosch, and Armstrong, they discover that an abandoned old lab may be where Marcoh’s actual experiments went down. Against Armstrong’s warning, they sneak in to investigate, and find out they aren’t alone in the depths of the abandoned lab…
