This is episode 50 of The Betar Project with special guest Corey Hutchings.
A local Blue Mountains lad who grew up loving music but couldn't sing nor play instruments. He even tried the trumpet so he could join the RBB for the Western Sydney Wanders. Corey then came across some videos of Will Sparks which inspired him, he had money saved up from working at Mc Donald's so decided to spend it all on a DJ Deck and some speaker. The funny part is that when he got home he realised he couldn't use it as he didn't have a laptop to run the software. From there he got himself a laptop and played his first song which was Hotel Room Service by Pitbull. Then the real learning began as he had to teach himself the ins and outs of djing, it's not just play a song and do the scratchy scratch.
Corey has now grown a popular name in the Mountains/Penrith area from playing a birthday parties to the Peachtree Hotel and other venues. I wish nothing but success for him in the Army and hope that he can take his Dj Career to the next level if he decides to when he gets back.
I couldn't thank Corey enough for coming on. If you enjoyed please tag this episode in your socials and give a 5 star rating/review on iTunes.
