The Witch's Tale. May 30, 1935. WOR, Newark, New Jersey, , Air Features Syndicate syndication. "The Deserter". Old Nancy is 125 years old today. A Civil War story "of 80 years ago" (which would put the date of broadcast at 1944 if true), loosely based on Ambrose Bierce's, "An Occurence At Owl Creek Bridge." Well-done and well-written, if somewhat melodramatic. The script was previously used on "The Witch's Tale" on January 23, 1933. This might be an Artransa (Australian) syndication.
