Adoption is related to the sacraments but it is not a sacrament. This act of blessing is still very necessary nowadays, because when a guest is adopted in our church, he or she ascribes to the doctrine taught in our church.
Adoption is not about “ratifying” a Baptism carried out in another church (as it was understood to be in the past), but about a guest being part of our church and publicly professing that they believe in what we believe (i.e. that Jesus Christ is active in this church, in the Apostle ministry…). Moreover, we acknowledge that Baptism performed in another church is valid, because it is God acting, washing away original sin. So, if the guest is already baptized with water and in the name of the Triune God adoption opens up access to receiving Holy Sealing and Holy Communion. Thus, if the guest has not been baptized in the name of the Triune God, then he or she would have to receive Holy Baptism (instead of being adopted) in order to receive the other two sacraments.

La adopción se relaciona con los sacramentos, pero no es un sacramento. Este acto de bendición es aún muy necesario en la actualidad, porque cuando un invitado es adoptado en nuestra iglesia, él o ella cree en la doctrina enseñada en nuestra Iglesia.
La adopción no se trata de «ratificar» un Bautismo llevado a cabo en otra iglesia (como se entendía en el pasado), sino de que un invitado sea parte de nuestra iglesia y profese públicamente que cree en lo que nosotros creemos (es decir, que Jesucristo activa en esta Iglesia, en el ministerio de apóstol, etc.). Así mismo, reconocemos que el Bautismo llevado a cabo en otra iglesia es válido porque Dios es el que actúa, lavando el pecado original. Entonces, si el invitado ya ha sido bautizado con agua y en el nombre del Trino Dios (véase Mt 28:19), la adopción le abre el acceso para recibir el Santo Sellamiento y la Santa Cena. Por lo que, si el invitado no ha sido bautizado en el nombre del Trino Dios, entonces él o ella tendría que recibir el Santo Bautismo con agua (en lugar de ser adoptado) para recibir los otros dos sacramentos.
