In 1971 a serial child predator was targeting the children of Melbourne, Victoria.  But when he is captured and charged (and inevitably released on bail), he flees Victoria for Western Australia where he begins a violent string of attacks and murders of young boys.  These crimes would end in Tasmania where he would become the longest serving prisoner in the state's history.
